Croeso / Welcome to Lavender
Cottage

Lavender Cottage is a newly refurbished high
quality self catering cottage situated on the
outskirts of an Area of Outstanding Natural
Beauty (AONB) in the heart of the North
Wales countryside. It has been awarded 4
Stars by Visit Wales Tourist Board.  The
cottage has plenty of olde world charm with
beamed ceilings and multi fuel burner.  This
cosy cottage is ideal for a peaceful get away
from it all break; a family holiday or just the
romantic break you’ve been promising
yourself.  This exclusive cottage sleeps 4
plus cot and is fully equipped to cater for all
your needs.

The cottage is surrounded by beautiful countryside, a walkers delight, with views from the lounge and front
bedroom window as above overlooking the moors. There is a pub/restaurant within walking distance (currently
undergoing refurbishment) and a garage/newsagents plus excellent farm shop within 2 minutes drive which sells
fresh groceries and dairy products.  The cottage is also conveniently placed for exploring Llangollen, which has
many outdoor activities and plays host to various festivals held throughout the year, including the famous
International Musical Eisteddfod.

The medieval town of Ruthin is 15 minutes away and the Historic city of Chester is only 30 minutes away,
Chester Zoo, one of the best in the country, is well worth a visit.

If you enjoy walking, the Clwydian Range, Horseshoe Pass and the famous Offa’s Dyke Path are all close by.

Moel Famau is a hill and country park in Denbighshire, (though its peak is shared with Flintshire, since the
border between the two counties runs through it).

The park is an important part of the Clwydian Range Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The heather provides
food and shelter for wildlife, such as Red Grouse, European Stonechat and Eurasian Curlew.

The remains of the Jubilee Tower are at the highest point in the park, and indeed the whole of the Clwydian
Range, at 554 m (1818 ft). It was built to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of George III. A storm in 1862
reduced the impressive Egyptian-style monument to the base that can be seen today.

The park covers an area over 2000 acres (8 km²).  On a clear day, it is possible to see the Isle of Man, and
much of the North West of England such as Liverpool, Manchester, Winter Hill, Blackpool Tower and Cumbria.

There are many places of interest close by the cottage.   For the cycling enthusiasts, within the Llandegla forest
is the exciting
Mountain Biking Centre, which includes the RSPB nature reserve.  There is also trout fishing for
keen anglers within 10 minutes drive and an excellent indoor climbing centre -
Plas Power - within 10 minutes
drive.

Children will enjoy playing on the beaches along the coast, approximately 40 minutes away.  You can also visit
the threatre at Rhyl Pavilion, enjoy swimming at the Suncentre located on the promenade and the Sealife
Aquarium is also worth a visit.  The Welsh Mountain zoo is just a little further along the coast at Colwyn Bay.

"Despite the cold weather of the off-season, we had a fabulous time at the cottage.  The
multifuel stove and DVD collection ensured that we never ventured far.  The entire home
has been tastefully and efficiently decorated and we truly have had no complaints.  North
Wales is hauntingly gorgeous and we look forward to a return vacation. Thank  you very
much."  C & E.  Middlesex
